Bella barked furiously, as simultaneously, a knock rapped at the front door.
Bella possessed an unusual degree of sensitivity to doorbells, knocks, elevator sound, and she responded before the event actually happened. Maybe it’s unusual to humans, but usual to dogs.
Her bark was different this time around, displaying eagerness to accost the person outside. And why would anyone knock, when there’s a doorbell in broad visible range.
I decide to risk it out and open the door, carefully keeping the grill door locked. Well, gunshots can still hit, but not a knife. Will I see a ghost in broad daylight, or just an unwelcome guest?
Bella follows me aggressively, waiting to be let out. But I can’t do it without assessing the level of risk.
And then, another bark …. Where is this coming from? It’s not Bella.
It’s the neighbour’s dog who manages to cross the fence, but cannot reach the doorbell. Bella is eager to meet her friend, and play for some time in the lawn.
How dare I come between them?

Brilliant! Love it 😊

Great ending! Fantastic use of the prompt! I couldn’t help but laugh at myself at the ending! I was sure it was bad news! You are good!

Aww, a doggie play date. When one dog barks, all the others bark.

Thank you 😀😀
I know someone who placed the doorbell under the doormat. His dog just had to sit on it and the bell rang. He interrupted Zoom calls saying “Excuse me, My dog rung the bell” and everyone would be curious.
