Masters of the Universe

Something is different this year
I’m not adequately prepared for it
We’ve not been warned…

But doesn’t nature have a right
to change its mind
like we do
with long-held rituals
to suit our needs
change is the only constant factor in life

Is change always in response to something else
and we say it’s good when it goes as per plan
what’s empirical about us
and about nature
we lost the plot somewhere in our quest for progress

things can’t remain the same
if you want to move ahead
Step up, step up to the plate
Prepare, prepare to meet eventualities
Redefine the probable
Beat the improbable
For you think you are the Masters
And the Universe supports you

This is our answer to uncertainty
Or so we think so far
We are Masters of the Universe
till new ones appear
out of the blue
out of our own minds
and acquire minds of their own
just like Nature does
once in a while
