Anements


“I don’t know in which direction to shoot. His clones are all over the place.”

“Hit the one at closest range, and watch others move.”

A gunshot makes a tiny hole in the sky, and stars start dropping, all equally shiny and shapeless.

He gathers those in a bag for the Princess, and continues the shooting marathon.

“What have you got for us today? A disintegrating moon…” his partner hisses as she pours the shiny, semi-liquid stuff in a jug.

The Princess smiles at the Moon in her hand-held mirror. Her bodyguards could never differentiate between islands of light.

“BTW, what job were you assigned today?” His slithering partner asks as she samples the liquid.

“I had to identify the prince from the toads and kill him. I just managed to get some anements for the Princess.”

The Princess smiles again at the image of the prince in the mirror. The lady outside consumes the liquid, not knowing it’s mercury.
