Where are all those trivia
that populated life?
not-so-intelligent people
asking inane questions
watching a matinee show
walking back with friends
to buy vegetables on the way
shopkeepers who recognised us
to give an occasional discount
without asking
or clicking on buttons
Where is that button
which did not ask for permissions
to share data
yet dispensed all
that was needed
in a daily routine?
It took so long to find
peace in the eye of the storm
and push the doorway
to enter Heaven
but gods have changed
and so have I …..
-We stare at each other
strangers with uncanny resemblance
to companions of the past
-We look away
because our numbers
are not saved
on each other’s phones

Awesome take on the picture, Reena. Loved it.

A profound take Reena. The last line is so evocative- not recognizing each other because our numbers are not saved. Just so good. Thanks for joining in.

I guess our inner circle is comprised of saved numbers. 😂

Oh yes it sure is.

Oooo… Companions from the past. Is it because they’re companions from the past that it took so long to find the peace or did the peace come because there was a glimpse of the past in the stranger and that felt peaceful?

It looks like a search of peace to me, not actual peace.
