Aren’t stories all about preparedness or the lack of it, when something unanticipated strikes? Who reacts and how? Where does it take us?
It’s a slow ascent to the climax with emotions strewn all over, as the plot thickens only to unravel itself in the end.
Think about it. Destiny is nothing more than the result of our action or inaction. Love and hatred are nothing more than the reflection of our inner state.
spikes of destiny
walk through fields of wintry nights
sowing seeds of warmth
to light up home, hearth and hearts
when or before the sun shines
My Celtic tree is Holly. Colleen asks us to discover our Celtic tree, and write a piece of syllable poetry on the theme in Tanka Tuesday Weekly Prompt.

I love the beginning of your poem “Spikes of Destiny” and how you combine it with the expression of free will. In the end, it’s all about our actions or inactions. 💯

Thank you so much 😀 I was not aware of Celtic tree signs. It’s new to me after zodiac signs (Leo) and Chinese animal signs (Tiger).

It’s all great fun. I’m an Aries with an Aquarius Rising sign, a (dog) in Chinese signs. It’s funny how it all seems to fit, isn’t it?
