Came across this post while reading the Satanic Verses.
I was never into magical realism, so I avoided his books.
But I picked up the Satanic Verses (my first Rushdie book) after the news of attack.
It’s a great read.

I’ve only read Midnight’s Children and Haroun’s Sea of Stories. Satanic Verses is banned here.
The style of writing and thought process sure fascinates me.
