There’s no shovel in hand, but she digs deep within herself to check why she is labeled unemotional so often …. It’s all the more perplexing because the ones who blame her can be seen indulging in thoughtless and manipulative acts.
The accusers hold arms and ammunition for sure, used only to score points … .so fruitless an exercise when they don’t know what to do with the points scored.
She decides to leave them to their fate and walk ahead – a long, solo walk in the woods leading to a cave ideal for meditation. The answers received in a guided meditation surprise her …. there’s nothing left to be explored.
She has been through the entire range of reactions and responses termed emotion, and knows the futility of it all … it does not enhance the self in any way.
All those attackers have a long way to go before they reach here.

It’s often a lonely path to have to walk away, but staying is not an option when they have no motivation to meet half-way. Let’s hope the path leads to other seekers, equal to the task of enlightenment!

I agree, Reena. I am always wary of people with an excess of emotions. Usually because they can go from one extreme to another. I prefer stoicism, and not just because I’m English.

It is temperamental. Just reading a lot about it in the Meghan Markle saga.

excellent Six!
The thing about those kind of people is that, in the final analysis, they require the other person to assent, to go along with what they are trying to do.
Of course most of us do not live as hermits apart from and without social relationships. Life is played out in groups large and small and the people you cite in your Six tend to be quite skilled at rallying the others to their cause.
The thing of it is, it always, imo, comes down to a single relationship (at a time) that we participate in during our lives (work, family, friends) and we are taught to go along
most of us are not taught to view social interactions a transactions, as in: two parties, an exchange of values (of one form or another),
…and fewer are told that we can choose not to enter into an unwanted transaction (we talking mostly emotion as the ‘coin of the realm’ for social transaction.
And so, it is not that to avoid the people who would take advantage, we are not giving up on the emotional side of life, simply taking responsibility for choosing to engage in a transaction of not.

You make a very important point about choosing the transactions. This lesson will remain with me.
Thank you, Clark!

I can see to some extent how she is further along the path of understanding than her attackers, but I sure hope she still experiences joy, love, awe.

I can’t say that I agree that emotions don’t enhance the self in any way. Love certainly enhances my life, and the lives of those I love. Life with emotions subsumed sounds drab to me, but if that works for someone else, rock on.

Good point that it’s fruitless to score points if one doesn’t know what to do with them.
