In my end is my beginning

Hi, Laura

Thanks for the very different prompt. This is easy and tough at the same time. Endings feel so appropriate in the tired and jaded mindset I am in at this late hour.

I confess I cheated a little – chose the last two lines from my poems and put them together.

Let me know what’s true, then praise or condone
I wonder who wrote those scripts in stone

wherever I go, I hear the same sounds
of people long dead, they lie underground

Souls know not origin of deep scars, but carry those nevertheless

I don’t care where I came from
This is my life, this is the norm

Stand by your truth, when you have done right
it’s your choice to resist or exist

I think I have
reached a conclusion
to everything there’s a reason
and now …I choose me

Souls know not origin of deep scars,
But ………………….
