Tears well up in my eyes, obstructing further reading of the note. Only an organized thought process could sum up a complex reality in two sentences.
Was I being unfair to her individuality, for I wanted to fulfill my dreams through her?

Some parents learn too late that the children are not clones or a mini-me. It gave me great joy to watch my children grow up to be strictly themselves.

It’s never too late to repent although the other person may no longer be there. There does seem to be some underlying manipulation going on in that relationship.
