dreaded time of year
to pass through the eye of a needle
be scanned under a microscope
get electrocardiograms
to check increased heartbeats
before I know
if the bell tolls for me
or my future goes down the drain
from the dreaded bell curve

This reminds me of my annual visit to the cardiologist. I always hope I’m healthy and he’s happy with how I’ve been maintaining my heart.

I’m so glad I don’t have to go through that for a while, Reena! Nothing worse than being examined from all angles and in different ways. And that’s another one I forgot to mention – the bell curve.
