“This is the kind of chase that both enthralls and perplexes me… the criminal is one of a kind who leaves no easy trail”, the lady police officer affectionately called Madam Sir, plonks herself in her chair.

“You are in the hot seat, Madam Sir…. the Chief Minister has announced a prize of 5 million rupees for the one who catches the culprit.”

“His choice of victims is unique with a strong focus – corrupt officials … I’m sure there are many who would be willing to pay more to see him behind bars. What fascinates me as well as makes my work difficult is how he changes directions in the skip of a heartbeat, he moves as if he grows limbs in different directions and can take off, while we keep taking left, right and about turns.”

“You sound impressed,” comes a sarcastic remark from a colleague envious of her achievements and awards.

“I’m learning that smallness helps – CCTV footage shows a gnome-like form and if you must know, the codename for him is Amoeba.”
