“She is in a coma,” informs the doctor, “but try and say positive things when you are around her.”
Is it a case of suspended consciousness?
I suddenly become aware of my own consciousness that makes me feel alive. I exist and know that I do.
But physicists have not been able to see and measure it as they do with other forms of energy. Emotional intelligence says what I ‘feel’ in my body is an indicator of my thought process. Neural pathways keep shifting, but are so annoyingly imperceptible.
But then, through the deep caves of thought I hear a voice that sings… it not only sings, but makes me dance to its tune.
“Can she hear only my voice, or thoughts too?”
The doctor looks perplexed. Research cannot go beyond human understanding.
Both she and I continue to exist – at different levels.

So well done…felt like I was there.

I know there is so much we don’t know about consciousness, where it resides and how it influences the physical form. You do a good job of posing the questions here, Reena.

Fascinating article, Reena! Looking at consciousness as thoughts and feelings “painted onto” neurons and where it is leading the research is exciting (and a little scary, especially if they find devices that can tap into and read/record our consciousness.)

This article was my real prompt 🤩 Prosery prompt lines had to fit in somewhere.

I love the story as vehicle to speak to different phases of consciousness, be they unconscious or child in the womb, a deep dive.
