A child’s world

I like ladders, but there’s a snake in some squares
I’ve sticks and stones to beat it with
build a house with blocks to keep me safe
My house has ladders to take me to the sky

I’ve sticks and stones to beat it with
Serpents can’t pull me down in dark holes
My house has ladders to take me to the sky
Believe me or not, some day I will fly

Serpents can’t pull me down in dark holes
I like ladders, but there’s a snake in some squares
Believe me or not, some day I will fly
My house has ladders to take me to the sky

      1. I enjoyed the oral poetry tradition among bedouin people in Saudi Arabia, which is often communal. Similar crossed my mind when reading yours. Somehow jt feels more powerful like that.
