Virtually safe

joy overflowing
across borders
defined spaces
stops to think

I bared my soul
someone responded
with understanding
I felt vindicated …

What if the cloud
I felt so safe
enveloped in,
and now
meet in etched graphite
on a different texture
is not …

what I saw
and heard
-is different
from what
I read and felt

I wake up in sweat
switch on the wi-fi
to stay in safe confines
of virtual connectivity

  1. Oh Reena, I know this. After so many years housebound, when I did finally get well enough to go out, I found I suffered from social anxiety. It’s comfortable in our little pods.
