humans
in boxes
complain
the box is different
from what others
live in…
they feel uncomfortable
In fresh air
It’s scary, they say
too much freedom…
They look for
a change of box
not a way out
maybe
a way to
a larger box
It’s a big scary world out there, where many choose to seek respite from. Boxes can be comforting, as long as a way out is there and the way to it isn’t forgotten. Your poem’s always make me think, Reena. Good one.
bitter
the lament
is current news
pollution of soul and mind
could lead me to be unkind
so rather unwind
to your words
which challenge me to post
stuff cool
and not reposte
Excellent 👌. Very truly portrays the attitude of people in general, especially in the current times. Even when beaten or fenced in, they want to be ‘one up’ compared to their neighbours .
So very true, Reena! Excellent piece!

A truism write here. I think of that saying: “The grass is always greener on the other side.” Except it isn’t.

I see grass in different colors now. Green is struggling to get out of boxes 😃

I am going to opt for fresh air …. try to make it last in that box.

True and sad, some people really begin to fear freedom.

They lack independent thought, so will not know what to do with absolute freedom.

Indeed, that’s true.
