a glare
a raised eyebrow
scathing criticism
unsolicited advice
an attempt to step
into my territory
passionately
take decisions
for me
glowing with
narcissism
I don’t know
who they are
nor do I
want to know…
a lifetime spent
in defending
boundary lines
culminating
in accusations
of dominance
or stubborn-ness
of having grown
bigger than
my boots
I do know
who they are
but wished
had never known
I took so long
to know and reject
not letting you
dominate
is called dominance
life could’ve been easier
many battles won
If I’d learnt
-the art of war
lies in offense
not self-defence
Yes, I am taking a break from it. I want to move forward with my writing and the way I structured my weekly prompt was very time consuming plus I was having computer issues. If I start it up again, I will structure in differently. https://amanpan.com/2020/11/04/ive-been-thinking/
Talking about computer woes…. I was out for 5 months using a 11 inch Mac. The 17 inch Dell at home is now locked, bcoz I forgot the password 😂😂 Still trying to resolve it.
Oh, no! Seems there should be a way to retrieve it. That is one of the main reasons I have 2 laptops in case I get in a jam. Plus, my hubby has a desktop so we’re pretty well covered. I have Windows, which it is possible to retrieve a forgotten password.
Excellent, Reena!

Wow, Reena! Excellent piece and stellar last stanza. Unfortunately, strategies are often not in our best interest.

I don’t have the disk which is needed for retrieval. Maybe we are close to a breakthrough. My husband has been at it for the last couple of hours 😊

Those who are weak, try to appear strong by going on the offensive. Excellent write, Reena.

There are momentary glimpses to show that they feared your strength, and the offence is an attempt to make it ineffective. Thank you, Punam!

I really resonate with your words, Reena. Like the twist at the end – has me pondering.

Thank you, VJ! Those on the offensive are seen and heard more than those on the other side.

True, and at the same time, I’m trying to remember a time when I was on the offensive – certainly not part of my upbringing.

Independent minds often do not have that need to attract attention, but end up losing the race.

Yes, you win the war by going on offensive!

Politicians teach us so much about strategic initiatives and excellence.
