“I’ll be back in a jiffy.” He said.
Time is measured differently by riders of different vehicles.
He did not return. She was the single parent to a child she was carrying then.
She is proud of his success, and the fact that he flies around the world. He may find his father some day.
She has never let him promise words of return or remembrance. It is good to live without expectations, and she does not want to undertake the same journey again.
Destinations of victory are different for each one of us. It is emotional independence for her.

She was a strong woman, but I fear the emotional wound left by the child’s father cut deep. I hope she can one day learn to be open to love again.

I hope her rather pragmatic approach doesn’t leave her desolate at the end of her life.

Dear Reena,
Relationships are complicated things, aren’t they? A novel in 100 words.
