Her autobiography is being published long after the star is dead.
Somehow, she could not muster the courage to expose her wounds to the world. Celebrityhood imposes certain expectations – of always looking flawless, born privileged and made of stardust.
She was made of blazing sun rays, not stardust. The fire had burnt non-stop to brighten up the stage, but consumed her insides. The pain was being revealed to the world for the first time.
And of course, the person who had caused her all the pain was going to get richer with it…. the book and the insurance claim.

oh gosh, that last line. I hope somehow her flames come back to burn the person up. Beautifully crafted piece.

How sad – she should have left the royalties from her book to charity.

Indeed. The things published after death can be so damaging. A very well told story, Reena.

Seems like a tortured way to live. She never resolved earlier issues and made poor choices along the way. Good story, Reena.

Great last line. So many of these perfect-looking lives of celebrity are anything but underneath.

At times, one cannot believe why do they have to go through whatever they do. Maybe, loneliness at the top makes them sacrifice for companionship of some description.
