“Which one is you in the picture, Grandma?”
“The saddest part of life is that I’m not there.”
“Then?” Curiosity shone in my grandson’s eyes.
“Only if I’d been there, I would not be here today. I would have been in august company in the corridors of fame.”
“But why were you not there?”
“I was in the labour room, giving birth to your mother. And I could never get back to the actor’s life I loved so much.”
Three weeks later, my grandson had organised a seniors’ event called “The Comeback.”
Now, do you see me on the stage?

I am smiling SO big, right now.

Second chances are great when we take advantage of them.
Especially from family.
Big smile.

The grandson was clearly not concerned that she would rather have been on stage than creating his family.

He cared for her more than that.

What a nice grandson she had! I bet she was delighted to tread the boards once more, albeit as an amateur.

Yeah… being an amateur at that stage terrifies people.

Interesting that she’d rather be a star than have a daughter and grandson…

Just shows it’s never too late. (But I didn’t understand why she said “Only if I’d been there, I would not be here today…)
