I stand
face-to-face
with secrets
I kept from myself
discover gems
of unforeseen courage
how could I’ve been
so blind and insensitive
to not know
that I can
stand alone
survive alone
a phoenix emerges
from dark depths
of secrets
I kept from myself
I stand
face-to-face
with secrets
I kept from myself
discover gems
of unforeseen courage
how could I’ve been
so blind and insensitive
to not know
that I can
stand alone
survive alone
a phoenix emerges
from dark depths
of secrets
I kept from myself
Sometimes our elders, for whatever reasons, tie the blinders on and we bumble along with an imcomplete knowledge of ourselves. Sometimes along the way the blinders get knocked off and we have a panoramic view. And what a view! ❤

Agree. They continue to chastise you for stepping out of boundary lines, and the pleasure of defiance increases all the more 😀😀

The intelligence of our survival tactics, hiding away the things too overwhelming to face and then one day, they emerge like gems, and the phoenix rises! So powerfully written.
