Did you come for me that night?
my dreams carried me
imagination took flight
towers, billboards – and
my name up in neon lights
waking up in a different world
I found fame, but lost my voice
I choked on borrowed words
only said things that sounded nice
I hurt sidewalks with pointed heels
feeling pain of paths I did not take
not knowing what lies on either side
instinctual acts leave behind an ache
I write epics, I enact the scenes
characters behind a mask
unspoken tales, authors unknown
I won’t read, but yet I ask
Did you come for me that night?
You Belong to The City

“I won’t read, but yet I ask” Wonderful line. I’ve had dreams like that.

It always feels good, if lines resonate with someone.

and all the same
you are still there
far from

such sweet music tagethah!
