Nostalgia hits as I enter this road. I’ve spent a large part of life working here.
I remember a colleague’s quip –
“High rise buildings look impressive. But there is less than one window per person for the people who live or work here.”
One window to the future was all that people dreamt about there, and continued to exist in cubby-holes. I wonder if the semi-humans I worked with are still in the same place. Do I want to meet them? No. Nobody had looked up when I left.
I shrug off the memory and walk into the coffee-shop.

Having worked in a window-less environment many years ago, this struck a chord. Well done!
