He received the same picture postcard from his partner every year. At times, there were tiny stickers in different colors, at different spots. He got the message, and knew what to expect.
This year is different β the same picture shows empty seats on the ferris wheel. Does it mean there are no more people to be taken on a merry-go-round and swindled? It is a sad state for the business. He just hoped there was no trouble from the police as yet.
He pulls out the map. It is time to change location, and change names β maybe the tricks too.

Fun and unique take on the prompt. The conmen’s job seems to be as demanding as everyone else’s: be ready for change or be left behind.

A creative, if criminal, way to use the Ferris wheel. Interesting take, Reena.

Well, your conman narrator certainly had me fooled! I was thinking of his life partner rather than his partner in crime all the way through your story!
