I woke up with a heavy heart
When did Hope visit me last?
I extricated my vision from deep snow
to see vulture clouds hovering above
When did Hope visit me last?
When did I look at the baby smile
to see vulture clouds hovering above
dissipate with a sigh in the last mile
When did I look at the baby smile
bringing sunny days back, and clouds
dissipate with a sigh in the last mile
the puppy licks my feet, coos aloud
bringing sunny days back, and clouds
I woke up with a heavy heart
the puppy licks my feet, coos aloud
I extricated my vision from deep snow

An excellent way to pull oneself out of depression. (K)

Brilliant piece, Reena. Insightful look at the pleasurable things in life vs the undesirable.

Gotta find some hope in puppies and babies Reena π – but snow would drop anyoneβs spirits. I hate snow. This is a bit dark, but well written.

This is a good response Reena, there’s a lovely feeling over being over things and wanting to move on.

I think by this time of the year, everyone’s spirits are flagging, Reena.

Is that related to the weather? ππ We have the end of the financial year in March, too.π

i love the ruminations in this Reena, clouds and snow, puppies and babies, beginnings and endings all filled with hopes dashed and regained. though you chose not to rhyme in the traditional way the pantoum does not lose its effect, of winding and circling the theme.
