Intertwined

Time and I face each other – parallel
I stand still and look, while he sprints fast
evades eye contact, I know it won’t last
-whoever is trying to cast a spell

We coexist on paths, walk on eggshells
He wants me dated, is making a cast
I write strategic stories, I’m smart
how many quick notions will he dispel?

Then Time speaks – Stop to listen, brother!
You slip through ages in so many forms
We strive to catch up with one another

The gist of you is what I can’t gather.
We are both immersed in each other’s norms
Don’t compete, redefine each other!
