We won the game long back.
The reflections in the floor, and the underground sounds bother me at times. Not everybody knows that we used to play the game on marble floors, with human pawns. Those who fell are now buried in history.
I see a pair of eyes, a fallen King, an army of stallions and soldiers charging at me in the dark. I know the end is near. But the world will never know. Another scream from beneath the ground, another reflection on a board and another page in history will pass unnoticed.
Till the Dictator falls ….

Sounds like a rather eerie dystopia, where as punishment ( perhaps for political crimes?) people are sent underground to engage in all too real battles modeled on chess. Very intriguing, their hopeless plight invisible and unheard by the world above. But I smell insurrection brewing.

A dark scenario created well. The dictator always falls but not before the carnage.
