in my province
grass blooms too…
cherry blossoms
in partial shade, partial sun
spring declares arrival
tonight’s moon–
how many mountains resemble
the ones back home?
my heart blossoms in the warmth
thoughts of romantic nights
shallow river–
a dawn moon
melons cooling
promises of a season
to usher in love and joy
a babbling brook
chills the sake…
roses of Sharon
clouds part, blue sky reveals
the future I wished to see
from the tip
of the forest ranger’s broom…
spring departs
heat on my skin ignites
long forgotten desires
tomorrow morning
a humdrum river beach again?
summer moon
new in dark, balmy nights
dream cycle starts again

Well done, Reena. Romantic and evocative. Beautifully crafted!

Lovely, Reena. I read all the lines in bold together and there was such a natural flow. “Clouds part, blue sky reveals the future I wished to see.” Love this poetic thought. 🙂

Reading it that way, the second last line needs to change ‘new moon on balmy nights’. Thanks for the engagement!
