On Sep 11, 2017 I wrote
UNCONDITIONAL
Paws hugging me at end of day
take forlorn moods to bursts of joy
winging on love unconditional
I live again
The flipover today
CONDITIONAL
moments of terror
will be stories tomorrow
scars will fade away
I live – but wish that history
not repeat itself again

Amen and amen.

I agree. Too much history repeats itself. Far too many horrors of the inhumanity of humanity. May we learn to live in peace and love.

We all live with the hope it never occur again, We have a responsibility to keep the memory alive, lest we become complacent.

Your poem’s title has me thinking why history continually repeats itself and I think it has to do with these conditions we keep building up, piling on one after another. Then, every tower must fall. Thanks, Reena.

We do not learn from the past. Instead, it may be used as a misplaced justification for certain nefarious acts.

May it never repeat… (though I think in some ways it keeps repeating)
