Future

The media devotes more space to kinky behavior and displays of brute power, because ‘man bites dog’ is a story, not the reverse of it.

Gamers get a chance to display more of what they consume on their newsfeeds, and then one fine day, they lay their hands on an actual weapon with fire or nuclear power.

They cannot resist the temptation to see how far they can go, and the moral vacuum around them does not pose a challenge.

Mind-sets appear to be numb, but are gradually being programmed by the Devil.

This is not a story with a beginning, middle and end in six sentences, but a slice of life across six decades.

It is a sign of times to come, it is a sign of humanity being redefined.

  1. I agree with you, I agree with everyone who has commented so far.
Reading things like a game show contestent needing a lifeline call because she didn’t know where the Great Wall of China was located is almost not believable but so totally depressing. Frightening in its implications!
    Good 6.

    1. You are right. I came across a clip on a game show, where the girl used two lifelines to answer the question “Where is the Great Wall of China?” This is numbness. Where are they applying energy?

  2. Damn, girl. This is GOOD.

You really laid it all out right here, no mincing words:

“Mind-sets appear to be numb, but are gradually being programmed by the Devil.”

We’d better get this thing under control. It’s that “gradually” that brings about the downfall.

    1. ‘Gradual’ is the key to manipulation. The victims do not realize what’s happening, and there is no clear cut case against the perpetrators. Change can be attributed to so many factors.
