It is not easy being a solo traveller and female. It is not at all easy being in a foreign land, and not knowing the local language.
In this outgoing culture, there were many people who expressed interest in knowing more about me, but I instantly withdrew into a shell. Metaphorically, I disappeared, as I could not face the consequences of being known.
Ten days later, I saw a burly bar owner harassing a female tourist. In my quickest moves ever, I had videographed his nefarious acts, called the police and got him arrested. I was surrounded by media lauding my bravery. There was no reason to hide any more. I could show my face and skin color with pride.
I chose not to reveal that the man was my father, and my mother had been one of his victims. I was born of that unholy union.

Such a strong message Reena. Your hero has many strikes against her and I applaud her boldness in righting a wrong. Well Done.
