Footwear was an obsession, and she was known as the modern Imelda Marcos amongst her friends.Β She wore a stylish pair today, but mishaps awaited.
A ball came flying her way before she entered her friendβs house, she bent down to dodge it and fell flat on her face. She first saw stars in daylight twinkling above her, and then, the heel which had separated from its partner, the shoe. It lay on the ground, relieved of the burden it was carrying for so long. No amount of cleaning and glue-ing could help put it back in place.
She turned to her friend,
βCan I borrow a pair from you to return home?β
βMe? I own only this pair that I am wearing. I can drive you down to the mall to buy another pair.β
The stars in daylight were replaced by a sudden flash of awareness. These are the friends who were happy to discuss dressing and accessories with her, and certainly owned more than one pair. She needed to dust off cobwebs from her mind.
Neither could shoes stand the test of time, nor friends. The meaning of life lay elsewhere.

There are many things which get out of hand. Blind following is the problem.
