A dog’s life

The thieves took everything except the dog.

The dog was beyond their reach anyway, and his value beyond their comprehension. It was not just about his love and devotion towards the master. The dog was the owner of all his master’s business and properties through a trust. His master had tried to ensure before his death, that the dog is taken care for a life time.

Had the thieves taken him, the caretakers would have chased them to the end of the world. They did not care much about the dog’s belongings being stolen – a bed and a silver bowl.

The thieves needed it for the cat they owned, who did not approve of the dog, however rich he was. So, he just had to be left behind.
