“The view is hazy. Does the sky always look like this after a nuclear test?”
“Remove the grain from the picture, and add a new one. What goes out in the media should be palatable.”
“Aahh, the media… they don’t understand science.”
“How can they? Nobody has done it so close to a city before.”
We could sense turmoil in the stratosphere. It was certainly not the same.
“Draft a suitable story blaming the enemy nation for chemical warfare. Be quick, all focus should be directed outside the country.”
“There is no other option.”
Our sighs were laced with self-pity.

It is sad fact that no picture can be trusted these days.

A very disturbing story, could have happened already and airbrushed out.

That’s a killer last line “Our sighs were laced with self-pity.” That makes the point so strongly that both scientists and media people have a responsibility to prevent the abuse of what they do. Self-pity is no good. Great expression of a crucial insight, Reena!

It is 20 percent of the population assuming that the remaining are fools who can be manipulated. And they succeed to a large extent.

Trust is based on knowing and past experience. Both are negative.
