Grotesqueness overpowers goodwill. My affectionate gestures are spurned, as people move away from me.
I don’t know how Little Jamie finds me interesting. He knows a little about dinosaurs, and explores the uneven contours of my body to add to his meagre knowledge. He speaks to me for hours, tells me about his teachers and friends in school. He plans to take me there some day, when Mom isn’t watching. The camaraderie makes him share a portion of his ice cream with me. He cleans up the mess later, to bypass a rebuke from elders.
God bless his kind spirit! So what if I am only a toy….. I like to be treated at par with other beings in the house.

Hope children fall in love with dinos than guns. Lovely story, Reena.

Lovely story Reena. Back in the day when dinosaurs walked the earth, I saw my toys as real too.

It is a part of growing up 🙂 Fairy tales fuel imagination, as well as sprout from it.

Anything that a child accepts is cool – dinosaurs or guns. We need to exercise care.

Oh sweet. I’ve always imagined Toys have a life of their own.

Thanks a lot! They inhabit a child’s world, so should ideally reflect the kind of values and behavior we want to inculcate. Toy guns and tanks have done enough damage to mental health.
