“The business is spiralling towards success, and all credit goes to this brilliant team here….”
The hall was filled with applause, as the baritone reverberated across the audience.
I couldn’t help but notice that some smiles on the dais looked decidedly strained. I voiced my doubts in a whisper to my neighbor in the front row. The response was quick, but cautious.
“You know what…. The spiral is actually an illusion created for concentric circles. There are certain elements that work at keeping the circles apart, for their own vested interest. That’s the strain you looked hard enough to see….”
(100 words)

Good analogies, and imagery here, Really liked it.

Illusion of success. Nice way of putting it. My take on the prompt revolve around the concentric circles as well

More management smoke and mirrors. Everything must give the illusion of success to support the status quo. You catch the tone well.

Round and round they go in circles and the spiral is an illusion. This is brilliant.
