“Dive in to check. There are bodies of soldiers lying at the bottom.”
“Looks like you are an avid reader of history. It happened in 1903…..”
“I don’t read. I happened to be here. My beau lies there. I had to come back. Just for him…”

How sad, but well written. I wonder what is the significance of throwing the rock in? Anger at her beau for leaving her? Or an act of frustration because no one remembers.
