Decades ago, Ayn Rand wrote about a separating couple in her work of fiction,“We, the Living”, who were being sent to Siberia, by the ruling monsters. The girl says, “Maybe we could look at the same moon every day and feel connected, Sasha.” Their helplessness is unfathomable in the Internet Age.
Faustina considers herself to be an old-fashioned romantic. She looks at the moon and wonders if somebody else is looking at it at the same time, and thinking of her.
The irony of the post-modern times is – she cannot decide which guy would she like to think about her.

Hopefully the one she is thinking of is thinking of her but it never seems to work out that way

Different days bring different ways – although romantic attraction will always be something we humans crave, I guess.

If she can’t decide, she hasn’t met the right man yet.

You are right. Or maybe they were all right in small ways, but the whole was not attractive enough. 🙂

LOL. She likes so many, eh?
The Star Trek the Next Generation episode “Second Chances” dealt with a similar theme. A transporter duplicate of Riker was left behind on a planet during an emergency evacuation seven years before. Radiation levels around the planet prevent beaming in except once every seven years.
The Enterprise rescues the duplicate and it becomes a question of who is the “real” Will Riker. While Commander Riker set aside his romance with Deanna to focus on his career, Lt. Riker is still passionately in love with her.
At one point they share the idea that one night they each may have been looking at the same star and, in a way, thinking about each other.
