Was that really you?
smiling
helping
defending me?
Just a flash in the pan
and it disappeared
to reveal a scheming mind
and a knife in my back.
I still wonder
why that first flash
of memory
has not disappeared yet?
Flash
Was that really you?
smiling
helping
defending me?
Just a flash in the pan
and it disappeared
to reveal a scheming mind
and a knife in my back.
I still wonder
why that first flash
of memory
has not disappeared yet?
Brava!

I like the way you’ve riffed on the word ‘flash’, Reena!
