Hollow self

Björn Rudberg (brudberg)'s avatarBjörn Rudbergs writings

The hollow in your pillow,
is a void
still warm,
an echo of the dreams
we shared
but split in two.

You only saw yourself,
while
the only voice
I ever heard was
mine —

deluded in reflections
we are tethered
to the echo
of ourselves.

Echo and Narcissus by John William Waterhouse

A short poem on the topic of Echo. Merril hosts at dVerse and I tried to use both the mythology as well as echo in a wider sense.

Echoes

dreams echo every impression left on the mind during the day   dreams process impressions in weird ways -tell a story   dreams leave you free to accept to reject -choose your story   dreams show subconscious paths change – if you want a different result   echoes give time to listen to re-assess to … Continue reading Echoes

Addressing the Beast

it’s not a fig leaf you may not want to tear it down here’s a watchful eye which sees your dark soul cloistered in erroneous beliefs your primacy is felony but you strive hard to keep myths alive get entrenched further in cesspools of your own making   I would’ve welcomed you a companion, a … Continue reading Addressing the Beast

Inaction

“I know we are not a predominantly agrarian economy now, and the cow is not so central to our system. Yet, it is the only emotional and religious force which can unite the nation,” said a leader decades ago. His disciples rule the country. Beef is banned. People who are believed to be dealing in … Continue reading Inaction

Blowing Off The Dust

Blowing off the dust … a deeply contemplative piece by Sadje.

Flagrant this disregard,
this blatant indifference

I have come before you
broken and desperate

and been received with
loving compassion, openness.

“It was not I who abandoned you” –
the words still echo in my heart.

In shame, I hang head, vow
to prepare my spiritual bowl

to resurrect a prayerful practice
to know once again the light,

the life that fulfills when
self is offered up as instrument.

(Ragtag community has offered the word “flagrant” as prompt today.  I have been carrying around scraps of ideas for Reena’s Exploration challenge – featured image.  This poem emerged.  I do not consider myself affiliated with a specific religious body, but I do consider myself a woman of deep spiritual faith.)

Waves

sound waves moving through neural pathways leave impressions crash on the shore get washed away   I move ahead but the same lilting tunes awaken dead cells I thought had ceased to exist   thankfully it’s a moment that passes I get back to life as it is not what it could have been https://onewomansquest.org/2019/12/09/v-j-s-weekly-challenge-76-music/

Barricades

The Moon is weary of human footprints. Humans invade privacy, erect flags, flaunt achievements, record stories … but do nothing to help the Moon. Mars appears to be within reach. We celebrate, but fail to notice invisible invaders amidst us. Why is our world changing so fast? We need to blame it all on invaders. … Continue reading Barricades

Keep them busy

“It is my alma mater.” the pride and loyalty in his voice was evident. “Mine too. Why are we turned away from each other?” “We’ve to guard the allocated space as loyal soldiers. Directions can be different.” “Are we committed to the same cause?” “I guess so …. Yes.” “Then why not fight together?” “Fight … Continue reading Keep them busy
