Options .. by Sadje
Reenais the host of Reena’s Exploration Challenge.
Here’s our prompt for this week…

This is a free-flow format of no rules and a space for exploration.
~*~
From the moment we are born, we are offered options in life. To a baby, these may just be to cry or not to cry, but as we grow older, the scope of the choices widens.
And when we become adults, there are serious choices to be made; career, place of residence, life partner, etc. it gets harder and harder because the options keep on multiplying. It’s like trying to find our way on a map where there are arrows pointing every which way!
How do we decide?
Do we blindly pick a path and follow it, or we make an educated guess?
Do we leave it to fate to guide our feet to the right path! All difficult questions…

Call to order …. by rivrvlogr
Call to Order
Neither here nor there,
this place we find ourselves.
All direction lost,
we wander within boundaries
imposed, yet never observed,
the chaos of partisan politics
the true indicator
of our own limitations.
This is my response to Reena’s Exploration Challenge #118.

The scroll of the screen continued even after she closed her eyes. Outside, the monitor is showing a straight line, and the doctor has pulled the sheet on her face, declaring death. There is a lot of turbulence inside her - unfulfilled wishes, unanswered questions, anger, resentment, desire to see how he world reacts to … Continue reading Turbulent
One way … by Jade Li/Lisa

Mainstream arrows all point the same
Consume, borrow, compete, obey
When thoughts ping pong another way
With pills, snorts, sips – “if” fades away
It’s chancy if you choose to play
Mind wanders, careful what you say
Land of the free – til you resist
Drowning waves come, you get my gist?
Get your message out, some will agree
Plant your acorns, some sprouting trees
Dig your own way, stories, art, poems
Warm truth lights. See? We’re not alone!

Down, but not out …. by Michael

It was a situation that could have gone in any direction. But it didn’t.
It was all downhill, and it was no one’s fault other than his own.
He could have argued it was because of the rain and he was unprepared. After all, it hadn’t rained for six months, everything was dead, and the rain when it came was something of a novelty and as such, his guard was down.
Also, he wore his new sandals which were not accustomed to the wet. The driveway was steep, exposed pebbles, running with the rain that had been falling all morning. New shoes, his mind on the drive he was about to take, the airport to collect his brother, he didn’t think of danger.
When it happened, it was all over in a second or two.
Down he went, his feet slipping out from beneath him, his hips hit the driveway…

Uniform ….. by Aishwarya

Our journeys would’ve started at,
Different levels,
Different times,
Different dimensions,
At any point,
Our paths would or wouldn’t have met,
At any turn,
We would or wouldn’t be oblivious to each other’s presence,
At any bend,
We may or may not have visited each other’s paths,
One thing is for certain,
Whatever be our beginning,
Whatever crossroads we’d have traversed through,
Whosoever we choose to be,
Our final journey would always remain the same,
Uniform.

Astigmatism …. by Jim Adams

The scroll of the screen continued even after she closed her eyes. The long and short arrows pointed left and right, up and down as the ophthalmologist measured the curvature of the front of her cornea by using a non-invasive medical imaging technique to map the surface curvature of the outer structure of her eye. The test determined that her vision is blurred because her cornea (the clear front cover of her eye) is irregularly shaped, but she also had cataracts. Jade was a popular blogger who wrote poetry and she also enjoyed the sound of music, participating in Song Lyric Sunday and the MM Music challenge every other Friday. There was a vast wonderland out there and jade was missing some of it because of her vision, so she decided to schedule the surgery.
With the surgery and the new lenses implanted, she would be able to spot familiar…
