SELF-OBSESSED

When did you get so engrossed in yourself your fears dominate every move you project  insecurity on others expect them to feel the guilt which was never theirs?   When did you let concealed hatred incinerate relationships while you pretend all is fine expect a miracle to restore confidence which you let disappear, deteriorate?   … Continue reading SELF-OBSESSED

Sun God

Does anybody know the age of the Sun? For how long has the fireball maintained its intensity? It’s not easy being an indispensable source of energy. It has to work even when the fire is not visible to the human eye. It lives, walks and delivers – in some other part of the world, but … Continue reading Sun God

The Last Book

The last book …. by VJ Knutson

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

What will be written
in the aftermath –
so much owing,
so little justification.

Upended anxiety –
regal anticipations
shattered by cancer –
yes, life is a teacher

No matter,
if we survive –
but where to go then
Earth’s riches exploited

Commitments crumbled –
confess we have Father issues
but it’s time to emerge,
step forward, take the lead

What follows contentment
battled, passive crosses borne,
paths with no clear direction,
doubt as ante?

Hubs are shattered –
we are spokes with no centre –
pray the last book written
is reconstructive.

I did not mean to demean

I did not mean to demean your puny existence or make you aware of your hollowness when I shared my thoughts which were too lofty for all that you’d seen and experienced so far but believe me the intent was only to share not knowing that people who could share mind space are extinct now … Continue reading I did not mean to demean

A friend

“Pack your bags and don’t turn back when you cross the threshold.” “But why, Ted? I always thought we were friends.” “You will not understand what the word means.” “Well, if you hate me so much, have it your way….” Tears rolled down his cheeks after she left. He could never tell her that he … Continue reading A friend

Right Direction

It was a tough choice, but she had always done things differently.  Rosy decided to join the army after her husband Herbert became a martyr to the country’s cause.
