Reena’s Exploration Challenge #126 – Isolation

Michale explores Isolation…. for Exploration Challenge #126

rec126-isolation

I live in a rural part of the country where isolation is easy to come by and one that is readily chosen over the crowded city.

I do go to the city, it’s a nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there.

Where I live, my house sits on the edge of a flood plain, I have what I consider an ‘ocean view’ as I look out across fields rich in crops at this time of the year.

In this present time of rampant virus’, there’s an advantage in living where I do. I can shun society if I need to, though I do still need to go to the shops, which I did early this morning to stock up on all things necessary, bar toilet paper of course.

I like my own company a lot of the time, though I do find like company very rewarding…

The Bag Lady’s take on Exploration Challenge #126

rugby843's avatarThe Bag Lady

“It’s none of your concern” she said sharply to a young man offering help. Pushing the cart up the sidewalk, she strained at the weight and slight incline of the cement. This was a daily occurrence for the homeless woman but she never dared be away from her tawdry possessions that overflowed the conveyance. She refused care of help from strangers and preferred isolation. After years of being hounded and used by an uncaring family, the life she led by herself was not an unhappy one.

Rejoining the World: Reena’s Exploration Challenge 126

Rejoining the world ….. by Isaiah46ministries

isaiah46ministries's avatarHelp from Heaven

We are aked to write a post, using the theme of isolation, for Reena’s Exploration Challenge #126. Here is mine:

Isolation feels like safety to my hurting heart.

I just need to escape the inhumanity of others.

I stay nestled in my home, away from everyone,

From the harmful words they use, I take cover.

But, the price to pay for security is much too high,

As I miss the robin’s song and the cawing of crows.

So, I’ll rejoin the world and experience its richness,

And, in doing so, my resilience and power will grow.

Rewiring

I always knew I’m wired differently – the eternal rebel who looked down on compliance as sub-par to existence on this planet. It was the frantic attempts at rewiring that amused me. Parents, teachers, partners, colleagues, children … all of whom that I was an aberration to be ashamed of, a mistake to be corrected, … Continue reading Rewiring

Reena’s Exploration Challenge # 126 – All by myself

All by myself …. by Sadje

Reenais the host of Reena’s Exploration Challenge.

Welcome back!

PROMPT #126

Here is the theme for this week.

~*~

Being by myself

I feel not alone but lonely

The world has forgotten me

The ties and links all abandoned

Alone, I savor but isolation haunts me

Why?

Is it the answer to my troubles?

To keep away will you be free?

My mind and body have given up

But don’t please you too give up on me

My heart craves human company

Do hold my hand at the end of my journey

The Pill

If the music didn’t get any better he was going to the take that pill Kelsey kept offering him.  The only reason for his presence in the auditorium was the temptation of mind-blowing music. Someone said it is better than the ‘highs’ he was getting used to. But he felt nothing. This was the only … Continue reading The Pill
