As we age our ‘once in a lifetimes’ centre around family and if we are lucky the opportunity to travel. Not around receiving news, you could easily find yourself sinking into the depths of depression as my friend says to me: if she was me and got the news I got she’d go to her bedroom and feel sorry and sook for the rest of time.

But I look at it as I can wake up each day, eat and do things, go…

EXPLORATION PROMPT 129

Does it work?

No.

But I suffered from acidity and burning sensation in the food pipe.

I had not heard of black tea or green…

twice
happily once at the beginning
sadly once at the end

I’ve shaken a few addictions. Cigarette smoking from the age of 15 to 33. Playing blackjack in London’s west end casinos in my late teens. Scoffing boxes of chocolate. My worst chocolate experience was at a friends Christmas party where I spent the afternoon consuming a box of black magic chocolates washed down with rum and coke. I can still feel the buzz to this day and shudder every time I think of it. Today I console myself with two squares of Lindt 95% dark chocolate daily.

The one addiction I have never shaken is books. I can still remember the thrill when I graduated from the children’s section of the library to the adults. We were allowed a maximum of three books and I would visit the library twice a week for…

Lost identity

“Can somebody help me find a lost item?” “What does it look like?” “Great, grand, glorious and very close to my heart.” “I guess you need to look close to your heart, rather than out on the road here,” the guy was rude, and moved away abruptly. Another one had passed by without recognizing me … Continue reading Lost identity
