Droplets

We saw the first rains of the season today – propelled by a cyclone called Nisarg (it means Nature). Guys are glued to TV sets checking the direction of the storm, and what damage is it causing on the way. I extend my palm out to feel the glorious promise of rain – respite from … Continue reading Droplets

Writing ….. by Punam

paeansunplugged's avatarpaeansunpluggedblog

Somedays…

words pirouette and tantalize

then bolt and disappear

syllables naughtily roll off my tongue

refusing to be counted correctly

thoughts are a jumbled ball of yarn

wickedly inviting me to unravel

ideas flit around like birds

tempting me to cage them

similes flutter on the edge of my mind

metaphors evade my grasp mockingly

I let them be

On others…

words string themselves into sentences

to flow seamlessly from my quill

thoughts and ideas are coherent and concrete

falling neatly into words

similes and metaphors adorn my writing willingly

nary a sign of delinquency

respecting the process

I try not to force the flow.

  1. Writer’s platform
  2. Writer’s Cave
  3. Writer’s Reality

Choose one or more to elaborate on your writing journey – not necessarily through this phase. It could be anything that happened before, or you foresee as happening after this.

Responding to Reena;s prompt #137 – Writers platform, writers cave, writers reality
https://reinventionsreena.wordpress.com/2020/05/28/reenas-exploration-challenge-137/

My writing journey began March 1,2018 when I joined the WordPress family. I had turned 70 and was reading an online article by Professor Jordan Peterson when I glanced at a WordPress icon at the bottom of the page. Being curious I clicked the icon and ended up following the instructions on becoming a member, it took all of 30 seconds. My biggest decision was the naming of the site and as I used to keep a diary from time to time, I decided on an online diary. So I named my site lensdiary. This process took me all of 30 seconds. My first blog introducing myself included the following:

My name is Len

Three score and ten

The biblical age

For leaving life’s stage

But I’m not done yet

My initial attempts at blogging were mainly…

Sunset

Social media posts spoke about senior lives being silenced in corona-infested hospitals, as the medical infrastructure was inadequate to manage the load. It is the base thought behind the piece ... What were their last thoughts, when a needle pierced into their consciousness, transporting them to another level? They were old, and the system could … Continue reading Sunset

Writer’s Cave

essence of you comes alive in patterns of ink expressions painted with care thoughts fleshed up in words reflecting my interpretations of the Essence of You   meanwhile… you change colors mutate In amoebic movements grow hydra heads challenging authenticity of my picture   if this happens you react in this manner but then…. you … Continue reading Writer’s Cave

Rules of darkness

light in a window blinds me to unknown, unseen faces unheard voices trapped in the castle awaiting release   their desperation to surpass, to suppress the sole visible figure grows as the New Moon swells in size   the next New Moon sees a new face in the same window claiming spotlight and many others … Continue reading Rules of darkness

Reading can broaden your mind

You’ll learn new things and points of views

New facts and a new way to look at old ones

But at the end of the day, it’s the writer’s reality

Pontificating from their writer’s platforms

Sitting in their writer’s caves, sometimes away

From real life, it’s real struggles and challenges

You can take it as the gospel truth or you can

Analyze it, dissect it and put it together again

It is important to learn the truth from the source

To get the…
