Somehow, I don’t know

Somehow, I don’t get what I want despite running for it all along I don’t know where I fall short Life cannot go all for a song Then, I meet wise men who look down on me and sneer They say I don’t do all I can find my attitude cavalier I know life is … Continue reading Somehow, I don’t know

Do the birds know they are famous?

empty nests with a cushion of hay I see birds that fly away on sky ramps - sashay plan and lay -claim   their place in mysterious dark grey waiting for the clouds to spray on earth, go away- to hide, play games?   murmurations - they all form and splay finding space somewhere to … Continue reading Do the birds know they are famous?

Like the avians,

Who roam freely,

Any perch, their home,

Like the flora,

Happily blanketing,

Any barren patch, with grace,

Like the aqua life,

Thriving majestically,

Any water body, their home,

What would it be,

Without boundaries,

Without yours,

Without mine,

Without separation,

Without demarcation,

Maps, globes, atlases,

Depicting,

A collective identity,

A collective responsibility,

Travelling as a,

Citizen of the world,

Across places,

One planet, one home,

Man beyond boundaries.

Rainbow- coloured maps

Rainbow-colored maps …. By Punam

paeansunplugged's avatarpaeansunpluggedblog

I know it too well

That promised journey

Flitting like a carefree butterfly

Across the expanse of globe

In this treacherous, grey and bleak scenario

To finally unite with you

Is not just improbable

But impossible too!

Yet who can understand

The ways of the gullible heart

The idiot plants an idea in the overzealous mind

That keeps checking the distance

On rainbow coloured maps!

My dearest K and M,

I am sending you birthday wishes with all my heart. I know you don’t want to travel right now but imagine when life changes and you are free to go wherever you want to. Imagine packing your bags and taking an adventure of a lifetime.

Where might you travel to? Would it be to an island with white sand beaches? Would it be to a tropical rain forest to explore the mysteries of the world? Would it be to the north or south pole to commune with the creatures that dwell…

Flying with the times

Flying with the times …… by Richa Modha

Richa Modha's avatarMy lingering thoughts

Tell me son, in which country
do you want to vacay?
I’ll take you there,
for traveling has become a miniature play!

The whole world is, as if,
as big as its map.
The great inventions,
have between the continents,
filled the sea gap!

Tickets are just a click away.
Travel agents have the travel plans,
just e-money required to pay.
So many flights you see –
flying over oceans like a bee!

Flying over seas, countries and forests,
Unlike me, for you,
no more of the house arrests.
Let your likings be visited,
Let your dreams be explored!

Mine were different days –
Flights were the richer’s plays!
Vacation days were spent in an outdoor game,
Family gatherings, and near about picnics
were the fame!
Ships took days to the destination.
Cars were the upper classes’ selection!

Spotting countries on a world map
Filled us with joy.
Let me…

I will always love you

If you live in thedesert,I will love you

If you live in the tropical rainforest, I will love you

If you live in the temperate forest, I will love you

If you live in the tundra, I will love you

If you live in the taiga, I will love you

If you live on the grasslands, I will love you

If you live in the savanna, I will love you

No matter where you are in the world, I will always love you.
