Legal Identity # Trinet

Legal identity ….by Jane Aguiar

Jane Aguiar's avatarLiterature World

A brown
wooden
house in nature’s heaven
on a lake near mountain
under
blue sky
is set

A big
shadow
falls on the wooden house
as if Satan has come
to steal
during
the day

The birth
of child
born by surrogacy,
legal identity
of child’s
mother
stolen

Tales Unheard

Nameless people in a house on stilts without an address The lake turns red A shadow is murdered Flowing waters the only witness waters change, time flows snow unfreezes to merge with emptiness Someone calls as oars cut through tales unheard A boatman sings voiceless anonymous… A spy’s life- fictitious infamous much maligned patriotic, self-effacing … Continue reading Tales Unheard

Stolen Identity

VJ's avatarOne Woman's Quest

The woman currently abiding
within this costumed realm
is merely a lethargic version
of the once vital but oppressed
Miss, whose identification
was stolen by means of
unsolicited adversity.

The focus of this recanting
is to invite a perspective
that not only restores, but
aids in the teaching of other
shadow-selves, that to reassert
original nature is more than fair.

(A quirky rant for Reena’s Xploration challenge: a stolen identity ; and Eugi’s weekly prompt: shadows. Art my own)

Emptiness in my life drives me to get involved in other lives, stick to them like a leech they can’t get rid of. I transfer all my stress. I feed on their discomfort. It becomes a second skin and you get comfortable in it.  The bigger problem is when you look in the mirror and believe it’s your face. Not that having a face really matters….. It’s far more convenient to switch … Continue reading Backdrop

Shadow or reflection?

Why do I trust reflections more than shadows? Do I believe mirrors are honest? And distorting versions A game or aberration? The Sun … unabashedly self-centred focussed on its own position not mine presents me in false dimensions but is unable to fake solidity of being me. I brush aside shadows walk through the night … Continue reading Shadow or reflection?

Traumatized by the disaster,

painful emotions besieged my core.

Beeping monitors and tubes injected,

kept me confined within the dreary hospital walls.

Surrounded by strangers fussing over me

I scanned for a familiar face, yet found none.

Paranoia left me fearing my own shadow.

Fate dealt a cruel blow,

realization dawned, that the accident had stolen

my memory, identity and my life from me!
