They don’t show mercy

They don’t show mercy …. by Sadje

Sadje's avatarKeep it alive

They don’t show you mercy, why should you?

They are not kind and forgiving, why should you be?

It’s a dog eat dog world, each looking for their own

When hearts are empty of empathy and understanding

Empty of grace and charity, shouldn’t we also

Don the same garment of apathy as they are wearing

Should we not treat them the same way they treat others

Or………

Should we be better, kinder, more charitable than them?

Game Plan

you murdered my pride when you repeatedly cursed me with your words.
your words that appeared to be deadlier than any weapon in this world.
it hurt me so bad i could die a million death, it hurt me so bad.
those words, your words, you use them to cut the deepest wound.
you murdered my pride.
you ruined my dreams.
you toppled down my spirit.
everytime you open your mouth

no mercy is your game.
and i, i am your willing victim.

oh, i used to be your willing victim. ‘cos i chose to free myself from your pride and ego; from your temper and disposition.

you no longer have the power to hurt me. not now. not tomorrow. not ever.

no mercy, my game today.

i had a recent conversation with two (2) college girls sharing thoughts about a college professor who blatantly told his studentst…

I Am Not Russian

I am not Russian….by Jim Adams

newepicauthor's avatarA Unique Title For Me

My grandparents on my mom’s side both spoke Russian and when I was young, they told me that I was part Russian.  My Grandfather’s parents were from Belarus and it was known as White Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917, when it was part of the Soviet Union.  It still has close ties to Russia and it is considered to be a puppet of Russia, with its current leaders doing everything they are told by them.  My Grandmothers parents came from Kiev in the Ukraine and they were also part of the Soviet Union at one time, but now they are an independent country which Russia has invaded because their leader Putin is deranged.  He wants to capture the former grandeur that the Soviet Union once had and he has convinced himself that the Ukraine belongs to Russia.  My ancestors all arrived here in the US in the late 1800s, so…

“The paints have different textures, so they won’t blend,” my friend looks hassled as she struggles with her brushes and an old canvas for trials. “Are you trying to invent a new art form, without a different set of tools?” “Not really, just that I couldn’t find the colors I needed in the same brand.” … Continue reading Harmony

“I’d like to know more about the residents of the palace. It feels like every carefully placed stone has a story to tell.” The guide looked at her with misty eyes, her voice choked. “It was a city, not just a palace. Each stone speaks of dreams destroyed, to appease the ego of palace residents.” … Continue reading Remnants
