Dare to Dream Big

So many colors
are there
to paint your dreams
to your choice and taste
Move away
from your black-and-white dreams
Destiny and goals
might have been written
but the fun is in
trying
and
coloring
so
dare
to dream big

RANDOM DAWNINGS OF NEW DREAMS Moonwashed Weekly Prompt; Reena’s Xploration Challenge

Random Dawnings of New Dreams … by Ken Hume

kenhume31's avatarPoetry and Prose of Ken Hume

For my last poem of the week I’ve amalgamated 2 prompts from Moonwashed Weekly Prompts (New Dawnings) & Reena’s Xploration Challenge #262 (Random Dreams) titled Random Dawnings of New Dreams. Hope that ye enjoy the read! 🤞🙏😁📖

RANDOM DAWNINGS OF NEW DREAMS

A New Year brings with it
Promises of New Dawnings
Interspersed with
Drowsy yawnings
As it sleepily emerges
Into life
From last year’s slumber
With it’s random dreams
On our mind’s cinema screens
If we’re willing
To stop fawning
Over the year that is past
You’ll stop spawning
The same results
Eliminate the drama
And inner tumult
Time to tear asunder
Old habits
And break through the glass
Ceiling
Of your self-imposed limitations
Otherwise
New Dawnings
will become
Chasms yawning
Of could have beens.
Should’ve beens
Chances to change
Won’t keep falling
Into your lap
Time to tap
Into your potential
It’s enlightening
It’s exponential
It could…

Story Cubes on Lucky Dip

Once upon a time, the old man holding a walking stick used to run on green lawns, catch butterflies parked on colourful flowers and dream of holding the rainbow in a transparent vase. Time flew by, as he travelled across the world in different planes and sometimes wanted to break the window and touch the … Continue reading Story Cubes on Lucky Dip

In an acre of land, green, red

Paint spread like a peaceful plot

And colours everywhere to head

In an acre of land, green, red

Such beauty to admire and tread

To appreciate what we have got

In an acre of land, green, red

Paint spread like a peaceful plot*

“Certain stories are highlighted in the media, only because they are preposterous. At the same time, there is an element of presenting a certain lobby’s point of view.” I guess the truth spilt out only because the bragging journalist was sober today. “Who paid you to write this story?” “Your husband.” The rape victim knew … Continue reading Professionals

colors, hues, and the essence of it

Colors, Hues and the Essence of it …. by Audrine Maxden

Audrine Max's avatarAwakening Imagination

Reena’s Xploration Challenge

how does one hear colors
when there were once
laughter and fireworks
now it’s- the numbing silence
of longing and broken promises
how does one see its effects
when everywhere you turn
the lenses of adulthood
suffers from astigmatism?
how does one provide
a sufficient description
when all through her life
all she tasted
were the insipidities
of a poverty drenched life
how does one feel
the spectrum of its essence
when the whole world
is color blind
with the gripping need
to paint the skin in order to
feel something within
drive ourselves to the extreme
taint our lives to some extent
just to realize we are actually living
oh how I wish trees
emit hues with oxygen
that everytime we breathe
we glow a little
then we can all stop taking it
from our lil’ munchkins and kids
perhaps, we can learn
to create it…

Near Something

Near Something ….. by tiredhamster

tiredhamster's avatarVery Important Stuff Here

Mr. Epperson did not design
his own dreams, these silly shreds
of memory, the strange refuse
and smoke of incomplete days.

The black sky folds, the moon
and its hours watch this man
be enslaved again to a swarm
of nothing. But after 43 years,

he finally saw something inside
the nightly mist, the supercilious
circling of eyes from a friend
dead decades earlier. Words

hummed from the stars, neither
hostile nor peaceful, but present
beyond the trappings of dream
and art, but the window came,

and, in his room, the face withdrew
with the mist, and Mr. Epperson
became nothing too.

Random Dreams

Random Dreams …. by Mich Navajas

Random Dreams

random dreams upon my broken limbs
lingered slowly as it navigated to break free
dreams that have been my greatest solace
in those days when my world was in a total mess
random dreams, that’s all i got in a place full of regrets.

random dreams upon my broken heart
yearned deeply as it tried to come out of the pit
dreams that have been my bravest allies
in those occassions when living means denying
random dreams, that’s all i got in my life full of grief.

random dreams upon my vanquished soul
longed completely to be honored and fulfilled
in those moments when dreaming was impossible
random dreams, that’s all i got in my solitude full of chaos.

random dreams upon my forgotten self
random dreams, that’s all i got

until i got you.
