Poetry, poets and predictions

Poetry, poets and predictions …. by Aishwarya

Do you see humans birthing in laboratories or Earth changing its orbit or aliens attacking us? Well! I don’t, at least in the near future but these are some of Baba Venga’s prediction for 2023. This was done way back and I attribute it to an imaginative mind!

I would draw rainbows from a hazy sky. Creativity knows no bounds. Like an agile magician, poetry and poets stretch their possibilities and see beyond the horizon. A flower floats in the sky and fish, well, can do everything but swim. Everything I do is stitched with its colour, and dutifully taken back.

Without poetry, poets and predictions, living would lose its charm and life would lose its liveliness. Hurray to a world of imagination. Beyond reality!

Shadows

I hear sobs and curses amidst deafening applause. Yes, the story of women in the British army being raped, and then misdiagnosed as suffering from emotional disorders weighs heavy on my thoughts. It happens in other fields too, not necessarily in the army, as the sadistic diagnosis facilitates their elimination from active social and professional … Continue reading Shadows

Color of Thoughts

“If matter is a dense form of energy, maybe some day we can bring back the dead to life”, wrote someone on LinkedIn. I found the thought interesting enough to pursue the logic. Unfortunately, it turned out that the said person suffered from mental health issues. Thoughts do emerge from deranged minds, but do not … Continue reading Color of Thoughts

Sadje asks a pertinent question here ….

To my teenage self, I’d advise her to not react to her emotions too much. She needs to be more pragmatic and look at life more practically.

To myself as a young mom, I’d tell her to stop fretting about being a perfect mother and to concentrate on being a more understanding and loving mom. Though I think that the kids would still have complaints regarding her style of parenting!

What would you advise your younger self and at…

Preparing for the End

I often talk about this subject in my financial literacy sessions. What does one need to do from a financial angle to prepare for the ultimate truth – your exit from the world? I give below a few pointers and questions. Study the succession laws in your country in detail. Write a will. It can … Continue reading Preparing for the End

Scamsters

“Holy ----! We’ve hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The strategic operation we were asked to work on turned out to be a scam to mislead customers and the regulator.” “Why are you upset about it?” “We are all involved in the dirt.” “The person who takes the lead is remembered.” “In this … Continue reading Scamsters
