Ralph Waldo Emerson an American essayist, lecturer, popular philosopher, abolitionist, and poet said, “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment,” and although doing this may not be the greatest accomplishment ever, I think that this quote holds some merit.  We should all try to be real, keep our feet grounded, and accept the life that we have made for ourselves.  In order to be yourself, you first have to know who you are.  While some people have a strong sense of who they are, others may be left feeling that they don’t really understand their true selves.  Many people feel that the person who they are supposed to be is based on how other people perceive them and how they fit in with what societal norms say that this is what they should be.  Every person’s identity is…
